Make sure you don't miss the flier promoting a fun winter activity for all LFE students and staff. Our PTA is working together with Community Ice Rink at the Independence Events center to do an open skate on December 8th for our students. No pre-ordering tickets needed, just come down to the skating rink anytime from noon to 2:00pm for the open skate. PTA looks forward to seeing you all there!

Mr. Hoover's Learning Lab!

I'm in Mr. Hoover's classroom watching and listening to his Hoover's Owl Stars! They are learning about making text to text connections to draw meaning from their reading! They are learning specifically about comparing and contrasting texts today with Venn Diagrams--a graphic organizer that promotes one of the most researched visuals for learners! Take a look at their SMARTboard graphic, a student model of the Venn Diagram and their learning target for this morning! Way to go Owl Stars!

They are now off to get their "just right" books and post it notes! Their next task is to post in their reading where those text to self instances occur! Google Docs! You are going to begin hearing lots about Google on the Farm! The district has several Instructional Technology Specialists that are working alongside teachers in rolling out Google Docs to students! The LSR7 Educational Foundation purchased a lab of 30 Chromebooks for each building and LFE will soon be receiving their mobile lab! Please reacquaint yourselves with the district's guidelines as it pertains to Technology Usage and Google Docs. It is located here at the following link!
